Hi, I’m Evani!
I am an artist and a researcher working to advance social justice in the use and governance of AI technologies. My work broadly focuses on AI auditing, surveillance, civil rights, decoloniality, participatory methods, and responsible AI policy. Currently, I am an Algorithmic Justice Fellow at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
In 2025, I was named one of the Top 100 Brilliant Womxn in AI Ethics. Previously, I was a fellow at the Center for Democracy & Technology’s AI Governance Lab. My research has been featured in The Guardian and Tech Policy Press and published by New America and the ACM FAccT Conference.
I hold an M.A. in Sociology and a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford, where I was advised by Angèle Christin.
Beyond this work, I care deeply about creative projects and community organizing.
